The Commission on Geoscience Education (COGE) is the International Union of Geological Sciences’ body for advancing geoscience education worldwide. It began in 1990 as the Commission on Geoscience Education, Training and Technology Transfer (COGEOTT), and has operated under its current name since 2004.
Over three decades, COGE has shifted from mainly supporting scientific conferences to addressing the varied educational needs of both developed and developing countries, working closely with partners such as the European Geosciences Union (EGU) Education Committee.
