Welcome to the GEFO Programme

We’re honoured to welcome two outstanding professionals to the IUGS network:

🔹 Zainab Muhammad Shuaibu (Nigeria) – A leading science education specialist and environmental educator, Shuaibu has impacted over 66,000 STEM teachers through her work at Nigeria’s National Teachers’ Institute and continues to champion girls’ education and climate literacy nationwide.

🔹 Salah S. El-Ekhfifi (Libya) – A seasoned petroleum geoscientist, international speaker, and active contributor to global research on Miocene carbonates, Quaternary environments, and stratigraphy. He brings deep regional expertise and extensive scientific committee leadership.

📣 We’re also excited to promote greater visibility for national initiatives via Our GEFO Corner, where outreach activities in India are now easily shared as completed country-led efforts.
