GEFO-Libya

On 12 May 2026, GEFO hosted a special online session in Libya, uniting students, educators, and professionals in a shared commitment to Earth science education.

We extend our sincere gratitude to King Saud University for their support and to moderator Eng. Salah El-Ekhfifi for his leadership. Special thanks to Dr. Abdullah Alohali and Prof. Mónica Guzmán, Chair of the COGE Education, Outreach and Policy (EOP) Subcommission, for opening the event.

The session featured presentations by emerging geoscientists on benthic foraminifera, emphasizing the value of hands-on learning and global academic exchange. Through the GEFO Programme, IUGS-COGE continues to foster international cooperation and support the next generation of geoscientists.
