Geoscience Educator of the Month: Professor Yamina Bourgeoini

A distinguished member of the IUGS commission of geoscience education between 2012 and 2024, Yamina is a professor at Cadi Ayyad University in Marrakech. She is also a leading expert in Micropaleontology and Biostratigraphy. Beyond her academic research, she has played a pivotal role in protecting Morocco’s natural history as the Head of the Earth Sciences Department Museum.

Yamina is deeply committed to Geoheritage, working tirelessly on the national charter for the preservation of paleontological sites and promoting sustainable development through regional ecomuseums. Her passion for education extends to environmental geology and international scientific collaboration, fostering a global dialogue in geosciences.
