At IUGS–COGE, we promote equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in geoscience education worldwide.
We believe that an inclusive geoscience community fosters better science, broader perspectives, and a stronger global impact.
The EDI Subcommission leads initiatives to ensure that diverse voices, experiences, and perspectives are represented and valued across the geoscience education community.

EDI Survey
We have launched our first survey to better understand the challenges, needs, and perspectives of our global community. The results will help us design actions and resources tailored to strengthening equity and inclusion in geoscience education. 👉 click here if you want to take it!

Regional Campaigns – International Day of Women and Girls in Science: México
On February 11, we organized a regional campaign in Mexico to commemorate this important day. Activities included an exhibition and outreach efforts to showcase the contributions of women in geosciences and inspire future generations of scientists.

🎓Scholarships & Fellowships

Geoscience IDEA Scholarship: Offers awards of up to USD 5,000 for undergraduate students from historically marginalized groups pursuing geoscience majors, including mentorship through AWG.

🛠Workshops & Training Grants

AGU Geoscience Professoriate Workshop: Career-level workshops incorporating mentorship, leadership, and engagement sessions for underrepresented geoscience professionals.
