The IUGS Commission on Geoscience Education (COGE) is proud to recognize Gloria Prieto as our GEM (Geo-Educator of the Month) for May 2025.
Gloria is a highly respected geoscientist with over 36 years of service at the Colombian Geological Survey, including 11 years as Director of Mineral Resources. Her distinguished career reflects deep contributions to geochemistry, mineral resources, and environmental geoscience.
Beyond her national impact, Gloria is actively engaged in international geoscience collaboration. She currently contributes to:
