COGE Workshops in Egypt: Inspiring a New Generation of Geoscientists

We are excited to announce the success of workshops and field visits in Egypt, led by our regular member in Egyp Dr. Enas Ahmed. Thanks to collaboration with The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), a fascinating geological field trip to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Wadi El-Hitan (Valley of the Whales) was held in December 15. offering participants an unforgettable experience of this unique fossil-rich landscape.

Designed to engage geoscience students and tourism professionals alike, these events exemplify COGE’s mission to foster innovative education, amplify local outreach, and champion diversity in underrepresented regions. By blending science, heritage, and community involvement, this initiative is a shining example of how geoscience education can inspire curiosity and create lasting impact.

We eagerly look forward to the positive transformations this program will spark in Egypt and beyond!
